Having the lights on, inside and outside, is one part of protecting your home. Most intruders will not like being around a place where there are many lights. If you’re ever planning to go out for a long period of time, it is a good idea to alert some of your neighbors as to where you are going and when you’ll return. Alternately, you can get a friend or relative you can depend on and have them stay at your house for the length of time that you are gone.
