The island offers many conveniences and services mostly in the general area known as Sturdies Bay (B C Ferry Terminal). The island has several natural state parks (6 provincial and national), hiking/walking trails, many accessible beaches, 9 hole golf course, all year marina, restaurants, B and B’s, resorts and inns, galleries, small stores and shops, fire and medical services. There are Government (public) Docks at Sturdies Bay, Whaler Bay, CRD Retreat Cove (access through private property) and North Galiano. Montague Harbour and Marina in Montague Harbour are about 12 minutes away. Galiano Island located in the heart of the Gulf Islands is easily accessed by B.C.
