Bee Island - (aka Island 5)

This beautiful and inviting natural state Island known as “Bee Island” (aka Island # 5) of 1.25 acres (0.506 hectares) +/- is located in Cowichan Lake on Vancouver Island. Located in a secluded area on the South side of the lake tucked into a small cove – west of Gordon Bay Park area. Something Special!

The Cottage: This comfortable and warm custom (modified Red Cedar pan-abode) built home was built in 2007 to a high standard (with all permits and built to code) making use of quality materials, equipment, fittings and fixtures. The natural wood (fir, cedar, pine, maple and alder) finished one level home of 1382 square feet (128.4 square metres) has two bedrooms and two three piece bathrooms. Great room being open living-dining room-kitchen (stainless steel appliances) with a high vaulted beamed ceiling and fireplace – the room opens through large folding French doors to large spacious decks which surround the house being 2343 square feet (218 square metres). Some features: thermo pane picture windows, 9 double French doors all opening onto decks, vaulted beamed ceiling, skylights, wood fireplace, solid wood doors, wood and tile floors and metal roof. The design allows for a large high area under the house for storage of kayaks, canoes and equipment plus a secure storage room and mechanical and systems room and access to the high-end waste treatment system. The cottage built with the environment in mind and designed to bring the outside in is sited on the high part of the island which allows impressive expansive 360º views over the lake and of distant mountains and beautiful sunsets. It is fortunate that you can comfortably enjoy sitting on the decks late into the evenings taking in the sunsets, views and tranquility and not have the annoyance of mosquitoes or black flies.

The Island: Bee Island is Beautiful by Nature! The easy care island of 1.25 acres (0.506 hectares) +/- includes an islet. The mostly low bank island with rock outcropping is in its beautiful natural state with a great variety of native plants, flowers and mature trees such as juniper, cedar, hemlock and fir. There are several pathways through the island which lead to the easily accessible sandy beaches for good swimming in crystal clear water. The Island is easily accessed by boat or floatplane. Once you own an island you will never be the same! See YouTube: www.youtube.com. Bee Island Cowichan Lake”.
